What engine mounts?
I am totally lost on how to install the parking brake cables that come with this kit. I have a 1977 Scout II. The existing parking brake cable (with original drum brakes) goes from one caliper then around the central cable guide bracket (this bracket and cable then connects to the parking brake pedal) and then back to the other back wheel as one continuous cable loop. The new cables that come with this kit are two individual cables and nothing lines up with the existing brackets welded on the frame already. Do I need to weld new tabs and get a different guide bracket that connects it to the front half of the parking break system?
Is it necessary to get new axle shafts for the disc brake kit?
no!
Awesome attention to detail! Thanks!!
Does this kit come with new races and bearings along with tab washers?
I bought your guy’s disc brake conversion kit for a Dana 44 Super awesome
Very nice..! Please hint on your bumper source and shackle reversal..? My copper top traveler cummins could use this nice ride setup....
Very informative video. Member of "Sonora Desert Scouts" Arizona
Just completed the rear disc change over. Great help from this video. Thanks.
I am doing the change over now to my 1972 Scout II and am having trouble figuring out the emergency brake install. the directions do not have much detail. Any video or instructions for that you can recommend?
I have 1974 cj5 with a dana 44, will this kit work with it
Who ever dis liked this video a pussy
What size tires are those
Do you need the entire scout 2 to make these changes or can just the axles be brought in?
I painted my '73 Scout almost exact same color in 1977, Looks amazing
Can the pads and rotors be replaced via local parts house
Is there a kit offered for Dana 70 front and rear.
not that I've found... been looking too.
Ja
What a jaw dropper!!!
Very well done. Does anyone know if the Scout 80 and 800 share the same rear differentials? (interchangeable?)
at "13:00"... why not just tack weld the spacers to the bracket so you don't fight all the wiggle?
Or put nuts on the top two while installing the bottom two? A bit like a monkey gaining carnal knowledge of a football... Otherwise, it was instructional.
Wow, job well done!
Does anyone know if this kit will also work on a Narrow track Postal Jeep DJ5 Dana 44? If not what will?
Hey Rob... great vid. Are there any areas you'd suggest welding in instead of... or after... bolting into place? What are your opinions of pros/cons vs the (IHON) IHPA rear kit?
I have a 1955 F100 with the Dana 44 rear end, will this conversion work for my truck?
Yes
Great instructions ! Good teacher!
That is one beautiful Scout!
Looks great! Can you tell me what springs were used?
will this kit work on other dana 44's?
Sure would like too see more.
Hi, this kit where I can buy?

It seems there was nothing holding the axle to the differential. Is this true that a Dana 44 axle is held in place simply by the outboard bearing assemble, flange and bolts/nuts? My 94 Wrangler came with a Dana 35 but when I purchased the new HD Diff cover I find out it's not a 35 but possible a Dana 44.The 35 requires the diff cover removed and c-clips removed. I think. The Jeep is at my Mechanic finishing up the 5.7 GM AX15 swap so I only have pictures to go by.Great video!! Thanks
+Bob Casteel you are right, on the Dana 44 the axle is retained by the flange and bearing....94 wranglers also came with chrysler 8.25" rear diffs
c clips are a pain, real diffs dont have or need them.
Bob Casteel probably Chrysler 8.25 non-c-clip axle. Chrysler 8.25 is oval but has a flat spot on the bottom, and no c-clips Dana 44 has totally different shape
I have a 1952 Chevrolet 3100 which I had imported. The previous owner used a Dana 44 rear axle. The drums are seized and I would love to convert to discs but struggling to find a kit to fit. I have a 1981 camaro front clip with disc brakes 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern, is there any conversion kit for the Dana 44 to keep this bolt pattern. Apologies for the noob question 🙈
